By Bennet Pomerantz "Bennet Pomerantz, AUDIOWORLD" (Seabrook, Maryland)

Having been a reviewer for almost 20 years, I have seen the decay of the Young Adult book market.
I grew up with classic Disney films and a simple native ideal. In the YA books, The type of book I
read when I was younger... Heroes were Heroes, Villains were Villains, the Good Guys won in the
end...the ideas of sex and four letter words were not even thought of. Was I naive in my younger
years? I don't think so.

Nick & Slim: The Legend of the Falcon Mind remind me of how good the work of the past were and
gives me hope for the future of the Young adult book market. You could say this book seems old
Disney school formula, It is just simple storytelling with a heart...and not a dollar sign

Author Pamela Henn weaves a creative western yarn in a good and evil morality tale in a non-scary
way for kids and adults alike. When you see all these wannabe Steven King type authors trying to
tell a Ghost/Time Travel tale that does not bore, they have forgotten the simple thrill of magic,
childhood magic of wonder. YES, I know...I harkens back to classic Disney. But that is not a bad
gage to be put against, is it?

The book's litho. at the beginning of each chapter reminds me of those Tween books that Whitman
did in the late 1960's and 1970's. I wish a few of these pictures were posters and available for sale,
they are truly beautiful

This piece of Family adventure and entertainment will thrill the kid in all of us from six to eighty
(and all those in between). you know I may need another book for me, because my nephew just saw
this book and may steal it from me

I can't wait until the next volume!!!
