Nick Stewart is a seemingly ordinary boy who traveled with his parents to his famous father’s archeology digs. But suddenly, tragedy struck. On a trip home to Washington D.C., Nick’s mom was killed by a drunk driver in a hit and run accident.
While Nick was still drowning in grief and confusion, his father made a decision to accept a permanent teaching position at a Colorado university. The unexpected death of his mom and the sudden move caused a deep rift between Nick and his father. The rift only widened when Nick witnessed the theft of a museum artifact on a school field trip to the Silverado Ghost Town. Nick found himself framed for the theft of the journal of murderer Slim Marano, and his father didn’t believe he was innocent.
Nick was expelled from school and forced to accompany his father and a group of university students to a local
dig. He was very angry. When his father was occupied, Nick struck out on his own and made his way into a cave on the side of a mountain. As Nick was exploring, a tremor caused a cave-in, trapping Nick in the cave. Unconscious for almost two days, Nick awakened to a strange sight-notorious Slim Marano, a miner from the 1800s. This was the spirit of the man who had been hanged for the murder of Otis Walkins, the owner of the Falcon Mine.
Trapped in the cave with no way out, Nick decides to travel back in time with Slim to the year 1865 to the real town of Silverado to help him prove his innocence.
Hampered by villains and dark spirits, Nick, Slim, and Slim’s friends Michael, Keenan, and Christopher unearth a conspiracy of vengeance, greed, and murder. With danger building and time running out, Nick must discover the truth to save innocent lives-and change his own forever.
